Lana Dee Povitz is a writer, historian, and assistant professor of history and Jewish studies at Middlebury College in Vermont.
Her first book, Stirrings: How Activist New Yorkers Ignited a Movement for Food Justice was published in the Justice, Power, and Politics series of the University of North Carolina Press in 2019.

She has written for The Los Angeles Review of Books, Reviews in American History, and The Oral History Review, among other publications.
​
She is currently at work on a biography of American feminist, writer, and artist Shulamith Firestone.
